I'm so excited to finally reveal I have been chosen to present BBC Upload Festival 2021 alongside 3 other amazing presenters! What an opportunity - I can't wait.
On May 1st & 2nd you will hear me on every single local BBC station in the UK. I can't even believe this is real. I feel so lucky, grateful and EXCITED. It's about time we brought some cuteness to the feed! Let me introduce you to Hugo the greater Swiss mountain dog, Dexter the whippet, cats Gracie & Rosie, Meghan the giant rabbit, Milo the Chihuahua, Scrag the cat, Pudding the labradoodle and Jess the cockapoo! Hugo belongs to Ben, Dexter belongs to Lib, Gracie & Rosie are Steph's, Meghan is Victoria's , Milo is Maddy’s, Puddin belongs to Alex, Scrag is Anne’s and Jess is Godfrey’s pride and joy. My 'In Conversation With Colton' series has it's own website: inconversationwithcolton.wordpress.com However, it's good to integrate your websites sometimes! So here is a recent interview I did with Alanya from the band PAVÉ! Every week I post one video on a particular relevant topic to spark discussion! My first video was on lockdown relationships (you can view this further down my feed) My next video was centered around eating disorders for National Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2021. Watch below! When it comes to deciding which form of contraception to use, you don’t expect your mental health, physical health and sex life to be hanging in the balance.
But over the past three years, I’ve had the menstrual cycle from hell: my periods lasting for three months, followed by just a three-week break. This came after I chose to have the contraceptive implant inserted into my upper arm. A small plastic rod, the implant sits under the skin and secretes the hormone progesterone. It is more than 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, but in my case, it was also more than 99% effective at ruining my life. Just last week it was revealed she had won her 'battle round' and secured herself a place in the semi-finals. Until we find out though - enjoy this interview I did with her in December last year! I interview brilliant people from all over the world as part of AnR Factory's lockdown interview series! They can all be viewed on AnR Factory's YouTube Channel.
This is my first one ever with Dom Malin from the Midlands! After the success of his Christmas tune 'Winters Home' in 2020 he has really engaged people's interests and you should click to find out why. NEW INTERVIEW EACH WEEK! After recently talking about my own experience of lockdown love on BBC Radio Sheffield, it got me thinking. How has lockdown affected young couples?
I spoke to 5 people from Sheffield, Staffordshire, Coventry and Wigan to see what their experience of lockdown love has been like. Each and every story is different and it's important we recognise what it's like for young couples who are dating virtually due to the restrictions. These are people who feel forgotten about by the government's 'roadmap'. Particularly Lucy, who feels the easing of restrictions don't give enough guidance on couples in her position. In some cases, there are young couples are separated between Scotland and England - meaning their lockdown rules are forever different. Although it's not the same for everyone - as you will see in the video, for some couples, lockdown has been an '"exciting" time for them. My brand new article for So She Slays!
"Making it’ – how do you go from singing in your bedroom to singing on the main stage? I spoke to 3 female artists from Canada, New York, and the UK to further inquire, is your chance of success measured based on where you come from? We also delve deep into their treatment on the way up in the industry, and if people are more encouraging of you the more fame you acquire! These esteemed artists also share their tips and tricks on how to break into the industry. Let’s hear from Maggie Szabo, a Canadian singing goddess, Savanna Darnell, a British singer-songwriter who hit our screens in 2018 when she appeared on the UK’s Love Island, and Chanel Yates, a UK artist who just hit the headlines after appearing on The Voice UK and bagging a place on Anne Marie’s team!"
